Jowar Jo Bhath (Millet Porridge)

Amount
Ingredients
250 gms
Pounded Millet (Jowar)
7 cups
Water
3 tsp
Ghee
1 tsp
Mustard Seeds
¾ tsp
Salt
--- Milk and sugar or
Curd and salt as required

Method:

Wash the jowar well and put into a pressure cooker with about 2 cups of water. After one boil, throw away the residual water, add the remaining 5 cups of water and salt and pressurise again for another 15-20 mins, to ensure that the jowar is tender. Now heat the ghee and put in the mustard seeds. When they start popping up, add them to the bhath and mix well. The bhath can either be had sweet by adding milk and sugar, or savoury by adding curd and a pinch of salt.
