Shivdasani is the father of yesteryears' actress Babita. He has done cameo roles in the films of Prithviraj Kapoor and Raj Kapoor. He was the one responsible for giving the Indian film industry the innocent Sadhna, who made her debut in 'Love In Simla' and whose hairstyle became a fad in those days.

Shivdasani has worked for Asam Tea Garden for some years prior to join the film industry.
