Usha Vacchani
I
don't think I am cut out for roles of a
saree-clad, simple and homely girl who has
to say only sweet things. Because of my
height and seductive looks, I am more at
home playing negative characters
Tall,
tough, confident and catty, she does not
care whether the role is negative or positive.
What Usha Bachani looks for are roles
with substance. However, in the same breath,
she admits that she loves to play roles
with shades of grey or outright black.
Why? Simply because she looks more convincing
in such roles. "I don't think I am
cut out for roles of a saree-clad, simple
and homely girl who has to say only sweet
things. Because of my height and seductive
looks, I am more at home playing negative
characters," she reasons.
That's
what Bachani has been doing on the small
screen for the past five years. And that
is also what she is currently doing in
her forthcoming, big-budget Bollywood
flicks.
This
self-claimed seductive glamour girl has
really shocked her parents and relatives.
"I come from a very conservative
middle class Sindhi family," she
reveals. "So my parents and relatives
got a shock of their lives when I started
doing ramp shows a decade ago and later
took to acting because middle class girls
are supposed to keep a safe distance from
the world of fashion, glamour and showbiz."
