In 1980, he launched Sun Video Cassettes in Dubai. Later in 1982-83, he directed a film on Radhaswamy, which was featured on BBC and Channel 4. 'Doctor Doctor' was his first full-length feature film. Nathani has made several ad films for television which includes ads for the Indian Defence forces.

He started his own production 'Videovala TV Pvt Ltd' and has made many serials for different channels. He has made 'Sansani' for Zee and 'Ga Mere Man Ga' for Home TV. He has also made a Gujarati serial 'Maitree Karaar'.

Nathani also has 2 sindhi movies to his credit - 'Ker Kahinjo' and 'Okha Pand Pyaar Ja'.
