Kumar Shahani A director who display originality of genius is Kumar Shahani, director of new India cinema, ‘Maya Darpan’. and ‘Tarang’. After passing out with distinction from FTII , Kumar Shahani was awarded a French Government scholarship. His first film ‘Maya Darpan’ won him many national and international awards. He also conducted a programme on film appreciation on Doordarshan and participated in international seminars on the subject. Invited to be on the international jury at Orleans, France, Kumar Shahani has travelled to all the world centres of cinematic culture. He now intends making a Sindhi film depicting the Indus Valley Civilisation.
