Shringar Films
In 1975, Shringar Films first established
its identity and began to reach out for
an enviable reputation in the distribution
market. The story of the company goes back
much earlier to the time when Gobindram
Naoomal Shroff and Vasudev Naoomal Shroff
teamed up to start a concern by the name
of Issardas Naoomal. They funded some of
the best know films of the time like Dusham
, Kafila, Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, Jhumroo
and Shakti Samata's Howrah Bridge (the association
with Shakti Samata is shared even today.)
That was in the early `Fifties. Gobindram's
younger son, Balkrishna began to study
the basics of distribution. In 1975 the
Shroff brothers, Shyam and Balkrishna,
decided to form a separate company in
distribution, by the name of `Shringar
Films'. Since then there has been no looking
back.
An
important landmark was the foray into
exhibition in 1997. That was the time
when Shyam Shroff's son, Shravan, Joined
the family business, after completeing
his M.B.A.
In
the years ahead Shringar Films Pvt. Ltd.
will operate in all the three segments
of the film business; Distribution, Exhibition
and Production in its endeavour to form
a complete intergrated chain of business.
