Lakshmi Kripalani is a distinguished Sindhi pioneer in the fields of education and poetry. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Experimental Psychology from Bombay University and a Master's Degree frorm Seton Hall University in Education.

Lakshmi established her school in Karachi in 1943 with special interest in educating single women, child widows and abandoned women. In 1962, she started the first Montessory School in Iowa City, Iowa, and two years later headed her Montessory school in Newark.

Lakshmi is listed in "Who is Who in Education" and many other East and West Directories. She is the recipient of the Golden Award for poetry. Her poems have been published. Although she is retired now, she is very active in writing, lecturing and consulting. She is presently a columnist for "Public School Montessorian."
