Joining the Consumer Guidance Society of India (CGSI) in 1975 was a remarkable step which Pushpa Motwani took and this organization remained as her place for doing things, which Pushpa considered would be of use to fellow Indians.

Pushpa's visit to America, prior to joining the CGSI, was a turning point in her thinking about consumers. She knew more about consumer organizations and their functioning, while in the US, and tried to translate those ideas here in her own homeland India.

Pushpa Thadani became the Chairperson of Consumer Guidance Society of India.

Pushpa's name is associated with the consumer movement in India. She wanted medical and legal services under the purview of Consumer Protection Act. She is also aware of the governments role in this matter.

March 14 is World Consumer Day and on this day she has reason to think of her role.
