Sonu Chowdhry is a well-known personality in the field of art, culture and dance. Encouraged by her father from her childhood, she underwent training in Bharat Natyam and Manipuri under the guidance of Guru Shri Arjun Desai, founder of Nartan Kala Kendra.

She learnt Kathak from the late Shri Madan Kumar Pandit. Craving for more, she then trained under Shyamala Pandit and Shri Setu Madhavan. Being a staunch devotee of the spiritual personalities in Shri Aurobindo and the Mother of Pondicherry, and influenced by them she presented many dance ballets and has been instrumental in organizing innumerable shows in aid of the Shri Aurobindo Society.

With the blessings of Shri Navjata, her spiritual father, she established Arvind Nritya Sadhana in the year 1980.
