Nori-Raand
(Skipping): Two girls turn a rope - slow
or fast. Girls take turns skipping and dodging the
rope. The girl who gets entangled in the rope is
out. Scores are kept for the number of times the
rope is skipped.
Eesee
De Mori De (Fugdi): Normally played by
two girls facing each others hands, stretch themselves
behind as far from each other without moving their
feet, and tighty clasp eachother revolve round and
round with momentum singing 'eesee de mori de, laal
katori de, bhambhori bhajaee de, panj paise khota,
hanu bhabhi-a khe sotta, bhabhi vayee paeke, gidad
viya seke, gidadan ja aanaa, jeean munhinja mama'.
The spinning goes on till one of the partner falls
out feeling giddy. Another replaces the loser and
the games goes on.
Gude
Gudi - A Jee Raand (Doll Game): Girls
divide themselves into two groups - one from the
groom's side and the other from the bride's. a mock
marriage was performed in which the Guda and Gudi
were wed. all customs and traditions were followed.
Marriage songs were sung and the bride and groom
taken in a procession. Marriage songs and the various
customs were thus learnt by the girls. |
