Ram Navani.....                                    Back

After the unfortunate partition of India on 15th august 1947. twelve lakh Sindhi Hindus were forced to migrate to the other parts of the country leaving behind their hearths homes and heritage .

In the last forty-eight although the Sindhi language and music has progressed by leaps and bounds in sindh. Now a part of Pakistan. The same is dying fast in India mainly because the sindhis are scattered all over the country.

Fortunately there are still a few spirited sindhis in India who r striving hard to keep their mother tongue and culture alive through dramas , dances and music.one of them is well-known singer Ram Navani. Born on 3rd September 1936at mirpurkhas (sindh), Ram lost his beloved father due to sickness just a week before partition took place and he was brought up by his brave mother with great care and love.

A product of sind cosmopolitan high school, Ghatkopar,Bombay suburb, Ram was a popular singer in his school days itself and he was being invited by his friends from other classes to sing at school functions.
