He dazzled everybody even at the early age with his handsome personality and gifted golden voice. After partition he joined the Airlines as a pilot. Film Producer Pancholi happened to listen to Atmas recording of "Pritam Ann Milo" that impressed him so much that he immediately called him. This opened the door to an illustrious film career. That included films like Nagina, Bilwa, Mangal and V. Shantarams well known film Geet Gaya Patharone that begged for Atma the Best Character Actor Award from U.P. Government. The Haunting melodies of Atma were heard around the World.

He expired in 1975. But his voice still lives and continues to entertain his many fans.
