Kumari
Bhagwanti Navani was born on 1stFebruary 1940 at Nasarpur
[Sind]. She was basically exponent of Sindhi Folk Music
such as Bhajans, Dohiras, Kalams, Orans, Lorries, Ladas,
Sakhiyoon and Sahras etc. She sang duets with Mahendra Kapoor,
C.H. Atma and others. She gave play back practically in
all Sindhi Films after 1963, Jhoolelal, Ladli, Sindhua Je
Kinare, Shal Dhiar Na Jaman, Hojamalo, Kanwar Ram, Halu
Ta Bhaji Haloon, Pardesi Preetam etc.
She also acted as heroine in Film "Sindhua Je Kinare". She
gave stage performances round about 3000 in about 25 years
for social, Religious and Cultural causes in the nook and
corner of India and Abroad.
She was adjudged as Best Sindhi Singer many a times, given
trophies, Awards and certificates by all India bodies. She
breathed her last on 22nd October 1986. She is rightly remembered
as a "SINDHI KOEL".
