Like any other country, in Malaysia too the Sindhis found business prospects and approve to Sindhis who are in Malaysia are leading a community centred life; having get-togethers and celebrations including Sindhi festivals.

Sindhi Association
The
Sindhi association is aimed at enhancing the social as
well as welfare life of Sindhis residing in Malaysia.
Sindhi
Association was formed by the patron committee of Tans
Sri Kishu (Globe Silk Store, Kuala Lumpur) Mr Lal Mahadev
(Kings Men Shop K L) Mr Chandru Binwani (Binwanis) Mr
Jethanand (N Valiram) Mr Ramesh K Nathanai (Arkays) Mr
Tulja T Primalani (Milord) and Mr M Awatram (Ram Books
Distributors). There were only 25 members in the beginning
in 1979.
After
ten years, the total membership is 118. There is an annual
contribution. The main members as well as office bearers
are from Kuala Lumpur, Penang etc.
The
main objectives are:
1)
To foster goodwill, understanding and fellowship among
the members of the Sindhi community of Malaysia.
2) To encourage and promote Sindhi culture and language
among its members.
3) To do social activities among the members.
4) To uphold the principles of the Rukunegara.
5) To do all such lawful things that are incidental to
the membership of the above objectives.
Sindhi
dramas were also staged in Kuala Lumpur like Samaj Sewak
(1982) Telephone (1984) and Doctor-ji-dhea (1986).
Apart
from dramas, other entertainment programmes such as children's
fancy dress, fashion competition, song, dance, mimicry,
musical chair have been conducted and the members of the
association also conducted fun-n-fair.
Every
month, (New Moon) Chandu is being celebrated at the beautiful
and marbled temple of Laxmi Narain, where Sindhis chat
Lal-ja-Panjira bhajans.
The
members serve Bhojan - food. Sindhis in Kuala Lumpur are
very keen, active and very lovable guest entertainers
and have nourished the Sindhi culture and spirit.
