Shri Hari Harilela

By far the most popular, influential and active businessman in Hong Kong is the 78-year-old Shri Hari Harilela. Beginning life as newspaper seller, Harilela went on to establish himself in textiles, hotels, films and construction. But his mind was more set on hotels. His hotels, all over the world, are known today as Harilela Hotels Ltd. He is the Chairman of Holiday Inn in Kowloon.

Harilela possesses Chinese citizenship and has been Advisor to Hong Kong Government. Recipients of the Order of the British Empire (OBE),Dr. Harilela has devoted his time and talents to building social and commercial institutions of the Indian community in Hong Kong.
