Hindu
Temple
There
are many organizations in Hong Kong who celebrate religious,
cultural and social functions. They are very active, attentive,
alert, hard worker, helpful and liberal in their outlook.
They work hard and spent lavishlyas well as donate for
good causes. They have maintained their own identification
and preserved their Sindhi cultural & traditions.
Hindu Temple at Happy Valley, Hong Kong is one of the
best place worth to visit. On every Sunday there are religious
discourses and Saints & Singers recite their musical
programmes. The foundation stone of this temple (as seen
on the main entrance of the prayer hall) was laid by Mrs.
Varanbai Hiranand on February 15, 1953, which was constructed
by The Hindu Association, Hong Kong. No doubt it is a
registered institution and doing very well in religious
and social activities. There is a good library hall, guest
rooms for visiting Saints and Singers along with a huge
kitchen where on every Sunday Preeti-bhojan (lunch) is
being given free to the all devotees and visitors. The
official priest has residential quarters on the first
floor. Really it is a very beautiful temple where the
marble statues of Laxmi Narain, Shiv -Parpati & Ganesha
and Jhulelal are seated on the specially errected thrones.
All the 24 hours oil lamp in burning in front of Jhulelel
Sai. Bhajans & Kirtans are melodious and almost all
the devotees do enjoy the pure atmosphere for about 2
hours from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. It is also a meeting places
for the wellknown persons workers from all the organizations
do meet here to discuss and solve the problems. Old and
unused clothes and accessories are being deposited here,
which they send free to the needy persons in India.
