FIRST CLASS FIRST LAW GRADUATE:
Mr. Tahilram Khemchand Vazirani took the highest marks,
in the law degree and became the first Sindhi scholar
in the law and legal graducates examination.
THE FIRST SINDHI MEDICAL DOCTOR:
Mr. Tarachand Jairamdas Wadhwani became the first
Sindhi doctor who passed his L.M.S. degree from Bombay
University.
KARACHI PORT TRUST ACT: Karachi Port
came under the Port Trust and Land Revenue Code was
introduced. The Customs and octroi were charged on
import and export from 1886.
POST AND TELEGRAPH: First Post and
Telegraph office was started in Karachi, Hyderabad
and Shikarpur. BAND OF HOPE: Brahmo Samaj set up the
Band of Hope against the liquor and drugs at Hyderabd.
LADY DUFFRIN HOSPITAL: Sadhu Navalrai,
Sadhu Hiranand and Pribhadas Shewakram put efforts
to start the hospital for ladies at Hyderabad.
SIND COLLEGE ASSOCIATION: The first
organisation which was recognised by the Govt. of
Sind. It collected Rs. 90,000/- from the Hindus and
Parsis. Karachi municipality granted Rs. 6,000/- per
annum and other local Boards and Municipalities of
Sind contributed a lot and thus Sind Arts College
came into existence with the annual grant of Rs. 10,860/-
from the Govt.
