PLAGUE:
The scourge spread to Hyderabad and raged form January
to February. Of the 33 cases recorded, 28 were fatal.
Mr. Dayaram Gidumal, Bhai Kalachand Kanwalsing, Mr.
Pribhadas, Mr. Kauromal and Mr. Manghasing helped
the victims at the Government hospital opened in the
Government High School. The plague then spread to
Sukhur.
SHAKUNTALA & HASINA DILDAR: Both
these plays directed by Shri Kanwalsing Malkani were
were presented by the D.J. Sind College Amateur Dramatic
Society, Karachi. These were written and adapted from
Kalidas "Shakuntala" and Shakespear's 'Merchant
of Venice' by Mirza Qalich Beg.
SURJAN RADHA: The play written by
Diwan Lilaram Watanmal and directed by Shri Kanwalsing
Malkani was presented by the Dharm Upkar Amateur Dramatic
Society, Shikarpur in Sukhur.
VISHIN VAHINWARAK UPDESH: Written
and published by Seth Vishindas Nihchaldas in Karachi.
This book of 243 pages giving the customs, traditions
and rituals from birth to death, proved very popular.
It was distributed free to all the Sindhi Panchayats.
