MARTYRS:
Menghraj Lulla, a youth of 17 years was
shot dead in the police firing in Karachi,
outside the City Magistrate's Court, where
Congress leaders were being trid. Another
person to be shot dead in this police firing
was Shri Hassanand Pamnani. Yet another
youth, Dattatraya, 19-year old son of a
Maharashtrian employee in Sind was also
shot dead. He was present in the court premises
at the trial of the Satyagrahis. He was
in-charge of Smt. Sheeladevi Vyayamshalla,
started by seth Jaswantrai in memory of
his wife.
PRESS
CONFISCATED: During the Salt Aatyagrah
Movement, Shri Hiranand Karamchad, Dr. Vishindas
Shivdasani and Shri Hassomal Issardas, editors
of the 'Hindu' the Sindhi daily, were imprisoned
one after another and the press, where the
paper was printed was confiscated. Despite
that the Management brought out the paper
on cyclostyle. Later it was published under
different names from six different presses.

by Shri Karsandas Manik, a Gujarati school
teacher.

CLASS FIRST MATHS GRADUATE: Mr.
Vensi Dataram Thanwani was the first Sindhi
graduate, who stood first class first in
Maths at the B.Sc. examination of the Bombay
University.
