the help of Mr. B.G. Kher then Chief Minister
and Education Minister of Bombay.

Dharamdas Khshitria started Girls Model
high school at Bori Bunder and Mr. Gehimal
Khilnani started K.J Khinani High School
at Dadar. Mr. Assudomal M. Kewalramani started
Premier High School at Koliwada, Bombay.
Dadi Lila G. Mansukhani started Guru Nanak
National High School at Sion Sindhi Colony
Bombay. Mr. Lachiram Matta started Matta
High School at Chembur. Mr. Ladharam started
Ladharam Sindh Hindu High School at Dandia
Bazar, Baroda. Mr. Harchandrai Nihalani
started Govt. High School for Sindhis Nos.
1 and 2 at Ajmer. Mr. Mohandas Matai was
the first Head master of Govt. High Schools
were either opened by the Sindhis headmasters
of educationsist in various parts of India.

SINDHI COLONY: Amils built houses
at Sion Sindhi Colony, Mr. Nanak Motwani
at Sind Sewa Samiti Nagar, Koliwada, and
Mr. G.P.Sippy the Gopal Mansion near a pond
in Bandra, Bombay. Bombay was built by Mr.
R.J. Advani. Shyam Niwas at Warden Road,
Bombay was built by Mr. Bhagwansing Advani.

ALL-INDIA SINDHI SAHITYA SAMEELAN:
held on 24-25th December 1948 at Bombay
University Convocation Hall, inaugurated
by Sadhu T.L. Vaswani and presided over
by Principal N.V. Thadani the then Rector
or the Delhi University.
FIRST
SINDHI DAILIES: Hindustan and Sansar
Samachar were published from Bombay and
Hindu daily was started by Kako Tilokchand
at Ajmer.
FIRST
SINDHI FILM MAGAZINE: Rajfilmistan
waspublished from November 1948 by Mrs.
Sushila Jethanand Lalwani from Bombay.
FIRST
SINDI TRANSLATOR: Indra Hashmatrai
Shivdasani was appointed in the Oriental
Translator's office as Sindhi Translator,
heading the only Sindhi Unit in post-partition
India.
RIOTS
IN SIND: 6th January 1948 is considered
the black day in the history of Sindhis
as wide spread looting, arson and killing
started in Karachi by Muslim refugees who
migrated from Punjab (India) and elsewhere
in Sind.
