NEW TOWN FOR SINDHIS: Gandhidham, Adipur, Fopalpuri were planned near Kandla port in Gujrat by the pioneering efforts of Bhai Pratab Dialdas a wellknown Sindhwork merchant of Hyderabad.

ASSEMBLY: Mr. Khanchand Gopaldas was eleced from Ulhasnagar, the then province of Bombay as M.L.A. and thus was the first ever Sindhi M.L.A. after partition.

FIRST FULL-LENGTH POPULAR SINDHI FILM: Abana produced by Mr. T.M. Bihari, directed by Deepak Asha, Music was provided by Bulo. C. Rani and C. Arjun the lyrics were written by Parsram Zia. Cast: Sheila Ramani, Kaan Mohan, and Sadhna. This film is considered a landmark in the annals of Sindhi feature films.

SINDHU SAHITYA SABHA,JAIPUR: This socio-cultural organization was started by Jaikishin Sharma, Sunder Agnani and (Late) Sobhraj Assumal. The Sabha presented several plays including Neelam Makan Khali Aahe, 'Ishtihari Shadi' etc.

JHANKAR: A collection of poems of prabhu J. Chhugani 'Wafa' of Bombay was published.
