Deepak Shivdasani
"Yeh
Raasste Hain Pyaar Ke(YRHPK) is a journey
not a destination. It is just the beginning
for me.I am here for the long haul",says
Deepak shivdasani ,38, who grew up with
movies. He was a film buff even when he was
in primary school. He
was so fascinated to see the movie "Raiders
of the Lost Ark" that he bought a
book on its making and then he took the
decision to make movies. After failing
in the second year of his college , he
hung around with the likes of Rishi Kapoor
and Rahul Rawail , the latter giving him
a break as an apprentice but was soon
fired from the job. Then N.C.Chandra took
him as his assistant for "Woh Saat
Din" and "Bezubaan".His
first production was Bhavani Junction
, released in'84-'85 which was a flop.His
next venture "Dadagiri" flopped
too.
Then he went on to direct "Baaghi",
"Madam X", "Pehchaan",
"Gopi Kishen" and "Laadla".It
was Sunil Shetty who urged him to produce
again and thus he directed and produced
Bhai which was released under Yashish
Enterprises. YRHPK , which is a story
about mistaken identities, was as 12 years'
long dream of his ,was launched in June'99
but only got completed later due some
date problems with Ajay Devgan. He managed
to wrap it up in six months. Next he is
doing a double-hero project with Manoj
Bajpai and Sunil Shetty and has signed
Raju Mawani for another film.
