Another popular form of entertainment, cock and teetar fights were a common pastime is Sind. These birds were reared and trained by experts. Like thoroughbreds, these birds commanded a high price and on completion were sold to the rich seths of Sind. Those with a passion for this sport paid huge sums of money for these birds and fights were arranged where huge bets were placed on these fights

The sights were not pleasant and certainly not for the faint hearted. Usually fought to the last possible minute, the fights were a bloody mess sometimes with the birds injuring themselves due to their sharp claws and beaks. The owner and trainer came in for a lot of flak if they lost are reputations made or broken during these events.
