SAI JEEWAT SINGH (1831-1899)

Sai Jeewat Singh was born in a small village Qamber of Larkana district in the house of Munshi Shewaram. Since his father died when he was young, Sai Jeewat Singh was looked after by his two elder brothers Alimchand and Shyamdas. He had a good knowledge of Sindhi and Persian languages. He worked in the police department. He enjoyed his job and power. Ultimately due to some reason he had to leave the police job. Then he learnt some black magic and started troubling women. Till 34 years he enjoyed his life fully.

In those days Sai Vilayatrai went to Qamber, Jeewat's brothers who were fed up with him, told him to go to Sai Vilayatrai, who knew more magic tricks. When Sai Jeewat Singh faced Sai Vilayatrai, he fainted and remained in that state for nearly two hours. When he got up he started shouting "Oh Jeewat, what did you do you have wasted your life." He jumped from a wall but nothing happened to him. He jumped in the river and thought he would be drowned, but no such thing happened. His mind was thirsty for his guru in whose name he started treating people with simple medicines.

In 1887, Sai Vilayatrai left for his heavenly abode. After him Sai Jeewat Singh built a Darbar in Qamber and made it a centre for serving people, and cured even the incurable disease. One day Sai Vilayatrai appeared in his dream and told him, "Don't interfere with God's affairs. Miracles are fatal. Treat the people with your medicines and spread the name of God." Therefore, Sai Jeewat Singh started a charity hospital and started serving the people. But after some period of time his health started failing and ultimately on 14th January 1899, he took leave of every one and on the morning of 15th January he left for his heavenly abode.
