BHAI
BHAGWANDAS MASAND (1904-1974)
Bhai
Bhagwandas was born in January 1904 in Hyderabad
(Sind), in the house of Bhai Jagatram Masand,
who was himself a God's goodman, and was proficient
in reading Guru granth Saheb and conducting Satsang.
Thus, right from his childhood Bhai Bhagwandas
was influenced by his father whom he helped in
conducting Satsang. He soon became the disciple
of Bawa Laxmandas, who predicted that the child
will be a spiritual guide for many.
His father died when Bhagwandas was only twelve
years old and took over charge of his father's
work. Whatever income he got from the temple,
he used to spend on the needy and poor.
After the partition, for some
time he stayed in Jodhpur and Ajmer, But ultimately
settled down in Bombay in 1951 with the darbar
at 'C' Road, Churchgate, Bombay. He guided many
through the name of God. He did not believe in
miracles. But he blessed every one and it was
no less than a miracle that no one returned empty
handed from his door. He used to say, "One
who has faith in God will get what one wants."
It was his influence that in his
company the Sindhi community got selfless social
workers like R.J.Advani and Nari Gursahani.
Bhai
Saheb had cardiac trouble in 1973; at that time
his dear disciple R.J. Advani was proceeding on
a tour to Europe. Bhai Saheb asked him to cancel
his trip and be with him. On 7th July 1974, Bhai
Saheb left for his heavenly abode.
