MAHANT HARNAMDAS (1880-1949)

Swami Harnamdas was born on 26th December 1880 in Sukkur in the house of Seth Aawatmal. His birth name was Narain. Right in the childhood he was placed at the sacred feet of Swami Jairamdas, who noticed the spiritual light in the child, gave him good education and also gave him the name of Harnamdas.
After Swami Jairamdas, Swami Harnamdas became the Gadesar and in that capacity he looked after the Sadhubela at Sukkur. He was perfect example of simple living, humbleness and humility. He emphasized on the unity in the community and propagated against child marriage.

On 14th December 1949, he became 'Brahamleen'. After him Swami Ganeshdas became the Gadesar. He established Sadhubela Ashram not only in Mumbai but also in various other cities of India, where the work initiated by Swami Harnamdas is being continued.
