Durg (Chhatisgarh): This small City of 4 lakhs strength is situated near Raipur. The strength of Sindhi is 5% i.e. 20,000. They stay at different localities such as Sant Kanwar Ram Nagar, Shadani Darbar, Sindhi Colony (Raipur Naka). Many Sindhi Associations are engaged in social activities here, such as Jhulelal seva Mandal, Sakhar Panchayat, Sindhuri Seva Samiti, Sant Kanwarram Seva Samiti, Shadani Seva Samiti & Asudaram Seva Samiti. They have also formed a Sindhi General Panchayat whose President is Dr. Ghanshyam Rajpal & Secretary is Shri Mahesh Ganeshani. The address of this Panchayat is Sindhu Bhavan, Sindhi Colony, Station Road., Durg. The Chetichand Festival is celebrated annually by all the Sindhi Associations together, wherein merit students are felicitated, Sindhi Folk Songs, art, Sanskriti and ‘Chhej’ etc. programmes are arranged. They also celebrate Chaliho Sahib, Sant Kanwar Ram Jayanti, Guru Nanak Jayanti, Baba Khatwala Varsi etc. on a grand scale. These Sindhi Associations particularly Sindhuri Seva Samiti – teach embroidery, stitching, etc. to poor persons so that they can stand on their own legs. They also visit each and every Sindhi home for promoting Sindhi Language. They are determined to start Sindhi School / Classes shortly, however they have not succeeded so far. They do not lag being in building Sindhi Temples such as Jhulelal Temple, Sindhi Gurdwara, Shadani Darbar, Sindhi Dharamshala & Temple, Sheetal Ashram, etc. A praise worthy points was noticed here that (like Bangalore Sindhi Samaj), every Sindhi Shop / Office or home had a Murti of Sai Jhulelal for keeping Sindhi identity.
