Saurashtra in Gujarat is home to many Sindhis and
most of these sindhis are settled and doing business
in Saurashtra.
Altogether
there are 3,000 Sindhis in Kutiana, Saurashtra.
There are 300 Sindhi houses in Bantwa, another city
in Saurashtra and the activities of the Panchayats
here are good. A Jhulelal Trust is helping the Sindhis
in Kutiana. At a meeting, the idea of starting Sindhi
classes was assured.
Sindhis
residing in Jamnagar amount to 35,000. Most Sindhis
here - including doctors, advocates and government
officers - know Sindhi language. Sindhu Seva Trust
in Jamnagar is managing a school and Sindhi language
is compulsory in this school.
Meanwhile,
the National Council for the Promotion of Sindhi
Language's (NCPSL) efforts also are laudable in
Saurashtra.
