The Khambhat Panchayat has no office bearers and no activities except that they celebrate Chatichand in taking out procession in the town and have "Pritibhojan" every year. The town has 50 Sindhi families in the total population of nearly 1 lakh. They do not posses even a single Sindhi Temple. Nearly 70% speak in Sindhi. Nearly 90% are in business, majority of them being in lower middle class cadre, as no prosepective business/service avenues are open to them. Recently factories have been closed and the 'Karigars' have left the town due to political rivalries. .
