Late Pribhdas Tolani, affectionately called Kaka(Uncle) was a great philanthropist and the founder of a group of colleges and Tolani Eye Hospital at Adipur. He was born in 1893 at Larkana and breathed his last on 10th July 1988 at Bombay.

In 1949, he arrived in Bombay almost empty handed and plunged deep in Govt. contracts. He worked very hard and future smiled on him. He again earned millions and with the help of his son Dr. Nandlal, he established Tolani Ltd and Tolani Shipping Ltd and became their Founder President.

In 1966, at the request of important citizens of Gandhidham, he came to Adipur and established Gandhidham Collegiate Board comprising a full fledged Polytechnic Tolani Institution of Pharmacy, Home Science, Tolani College of Arts and Science, Tolani Commerce College alongwith full infrastructural facilities. He also established Tolani Eye Hospital and Research Centre at Adipur.
