Jhansi: The City’s total population is 7 lakhs & that of Sindhis is 525 families. This city can be divided in 2 basis (pockets) for convenient sake i.e. (i) Sipri Bazar & (ii) Shahar. The details of each basti are as follows:

(i) Sipri Bazar:  175 Sindhi families stay here. The President & Secretary of their Sindhi Panchayat are S/Shri Khushiram Ahuja & Mohan Ahuja respectively. They have built a Sindhi Panchayat Bhavan in Masiha Gunj (Sipri Bazar). More over a Homeopathy Dr. Mahtabsingh Gurnaney has established ‘Sindhi Navjivan Sabha’ in the year 1967f Whose President and Secretary respectively are S/Shri Girdharilal Tolani & Lachhman Karnani. Both Associations are doing enough social activities in their respective fields. They close shops on every Monday.

(ii) Shahar:   This has 350 Sindhi families. The President & secretary of their Puj Sindhi Panchayat respectively are S/Shri Virumal Karnani & Chander Prakash Nainwani. They have also built a Sindhi Panchayat Bhavan on Rani Mahal Road. They also have established Sai Asudaram Mandli & Sai Madhavdas Shah Mandli. Every organization is doing a lot of social activities in its respective field. They close shops on every Tuesday.

Both the above Sindhi Bastis are celebrating together Chetichand & Guru Nanak Jayanti on a grand scale. They have published a beautiful Sindhi Directory. They mainly speak in Sindhi among themselves. Most of them are in business only and belong to middle & lower middle class income groups. They have also established ‘Bundelkhand Sindhi Samaj’ in 1994 which comprises of 13 districts (7 U.P. & 6M.P. districts). The state President of this Samaj is above mentioned Dr. Mabtabsingh Gurnani. He is also President of (City’s) Senior Citizens Welfare Association & Convenor of sri Satya Sai Seva Samiti and thus does a lot of social activities not only for Sindhis but for others also. Hence he is loved by one & all (His Tel. No.: 09451130736). They also run International Marriage Bureau & a Ladies Wing with active social work in their organizations. The attractive Tourist places are Rani Mahal, Narayan baug, Lakshmi Vyayam Mandir, Kali Mandir and last but not the least a Great Famous Fort built by Freedom Fighter Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi, which nobody can afford to skip.
