Sindhis have one of the richest musical backgrounds in the world. Sindh had some of the most legendary singers.

Sangeet Acharya Master Chand and Prof Ram Panjwani had distinctive style of singing. Their keen sense of humour lent a new dimension to their compositions.

C H Atma has been another golden voice resound to their beats and compositions. Some of them even went to lend their credibility to projects outside the Sindhi circles.

C Arjun's music for the Hindi film Jai Santoshi Maa is a fine example of the role of music in a film's success.Chandru Atma is a scene singer, who is carrying on in his brother C H Atma's footsteps. Mahesh Chander and Gope Chander (US), the sons of Master Chander, Kamla Jhangiani, Mohini Mirchandani, Bhagwan Chawla (who is known as the modern day bhagat, his daughter Monisha Chawla and Issaar Sapru are from Mumbai.

The noteworthy names in the music front who have made an impact are Sushi Ahuja, Shilpa Vaswani, Shilpa Jaisingh, Ghashyam Vaswani, who are known for their bhajan and ghazal. Satram Rohra, Ramesh Rajpal are from Mumbai.
