Hoshangabad The population of this small town near Bhopal is 1 lakh and the number of Sindhis is 2500. Here each Sindhi Panchayat is doing a lot of social work of the Community in its different locality such as Krishnapuri (Mukhi Shri Shewaram Wadhwani), Gokalpuri (Mukhi Shri Bhagwandas Mulchandani). Both these localities are in Sindhi Colony. A large number of Sindhis also stay in main town. Here the main social worker is Shri Ghanshyamdas Jhamnani, an ex-Parshad and Ex-member of Distt. Planning Committee. He is also secretary General of Sindhi Council of India (M.P. Branch). Ms. Ishwari Mulchandani is Sindhi Parshad. They have also established General Sindhi Panchayat whose Mukhi is abovenamed Shri Shewaram Wadhwani. Sindhu Seva Samiti runs Sadhu Vaswani Vidya Mandir but alas, no Sindhi Language is taught here! Sant Asudasam Samiti has built a big Satsang Bhawan and it also arranges serving of cold water at Rly. Station to all the passengers who pass through trains throughout the day during hot season. There are 2 Sindhi Dharamshallas for marriage purpose only. The disciples of Baba Hardasram (Jalgaon) have built 2 Satsang Bhavans. All Sindhi Associations unitedly Celebrate annual cultural functions on a grand scale such as Chetichand, Guru Nanik Jayanti, Janmashtami & Sai Chanduram Jayanti (15th June). At least 95%  of them speak in their language among themselves. They are mainly in business and belong to middle class income group. The Sindhis have established Sant Meherdas Charitable Hospital for the benefit of one & all. This town is on the river Narbada.
