Powai Camp
The Powai Camp was improvised with the pitching of 172 tents besides some barracks. Water, electricity and sanitary facilities were provided.

A common kitchen was run by the Mulund Congress Committee and the government established a grain shop and a charcoal depot. A well-equipped dispensary with the necessary staff was opened. The management of the camp was to a 'Mahlkari' and a non-official committee formed for the camp.

A bus service was entrusted run between the camp and Bhandup Railway Station. A school was opened for refugee children.
