The city has 550 Sindhi families, amongst the total
population of 3,00,000. one Sindhi Dharamshala, Sindhi
Temples such as Jhullelal Temple, Swami Tonram Darbar,
Sindhi Sanatan Dharam Temle and Anandputi Darbar.
A new area for Sindhis is under construction. The
Sindhis are mainly in business and mostly O.K. Nearly
75% speak in Sindhi. However there is no Sindhi school.
There is one Puj Sindhi Panchayat whose president
is Shri Thakurdas Gangwani & Secretary shri Govardhan
Nanwani. They give prizes to deserving students, they
arrange cultural programmes in Sindhi only, they celebrate
Hemu Kalani's and sant Kavaram's "SHAHIDI DIWAS",
Chetichand , Guru Nanak Jayanti, Raksha Bandhan, Sindhi
Smriti Siwas (along with Puj Sindhi Panchayat). They
arrange the competition by 2 groups, Sindhi food competition,
ladies dress packing competition, Rangoli, Mehendi
& Painting competition. The president of B.S.S.
RATLAM is Shri Vishnu Kumar Bhagyawani & secretary
is Shri Anant Kumar Krishnani. Recently they have
started Sindhi Yuva Manch whose president is Shri
Bhagwan Tilokchandani. They inspire Sindhi youngsters
to do social work to eradicated social evils among
Sindhi community. They also suggested that a Sindhi
channel be started that a Sindhi channel be started
on T.V. so that particularly youngsters could be encouraged
to prepare Sindhi language and culture. |
