The city's population is nearly half a lakh which
include more than 300 Sindhi families; of which nearly
50 families stay in Sindhi colony. All
speak Sindhi language. There is Puj Sindhi Panchayat.
Its President is Khemchand Kripalani and secretaries
are Hundraj Chagwani and Bhajanlal Jagiasu, who
is involved with many social welfare activities
and who also conducts Sindhi classes for 30 students
with the help of Rajasthan Sindhi Academy.
The
city has Shri Guru nanak Sindhi Dharmashala for
marriage purposes. There are four Sindhi darbars
- Guru nanak Darbar, Sri Anandpur darbar, Dadi Harchi
Devi Kutia and Dadi Kalavanti Kutia.
Shri
Radha Krishna Temple in J K Colony is an attractive
place for pilgrims and tourists. Sindhis have good
rapport with local people. Sindhis of this city
are united.
The
important Sindhis include Srichand Kripalani, Motilal
Ahuja and Parsram Kripalani.
The President of the Vyapari Mandal is Verhomal
Chugwani; is also the owner of Sitaram Guest House.
