Rajnandgaon: The population of this tiny town is 1 ½ lakhs wherein 5000 Sindhi stay. This town is divided in 3 Sindhi localities, each locality having its own Panchayat. Main locality is Lal Baug with 3000 Sindhis. The President & Secretary respectively of Sindhi Panchayat of this locality are S/Shri Arjandas Panjwani & Awatram Tejwani. Nearly 1000 Sindhis stay at Hattithan and the remaining of them stay in the main city. All the 3 Panchayats have one Sindhi Central Panchayat whose Secretary is above named Shri Awatram Tejwari & President is Shri Lilaram Bhojwani. He was a minister previously in earstwhile M.P. State and now he is Chairman of Handicraft Corporation (equivalent to a minister in the present Chhatsgarh State). The town has 2 Sindhi Dharamshallas. Every Panchayat is doing social activities in its field. They meet on happy & unhappy occasions, particularly in their locality. They mainly speak in their own language and celebrate Chetichand, GuruNanik & Sant Kanwar Ram Jayantis, Mahshivaratri etc., melas with enthusiasm. They are on the whole well off. One feels the charm of a village life while passing through this small town.
