From 1967 onwards Kathuria was elected to the Kolayat constituency, which is in Rajasthan. Recognising her social services, the Government of Rajasthan nominated her to the Advisory Committee of Vikam Trust Hospital.

She was also nominated as Police Advisory Committee advisor. Kathuria occupied the chair as the Chairman of the Sindhi Academy. She also held the post of State Transport Authority.

Another recognition came on her way when the Rajasthan government nominated Kathuria as member of the Rajasthan Revenue Board and Public Service Commission. Further, she is also the member of Union Public Service commission.
