- Out of 14 dharamshalas, only Prem Prakash is a
lodging dharamshala. This city has 52 Sindhi panchayat's
and one central panchayat. Four lakh Sindhis reside
here and almost 90 percent speak the Sindhi language.
There are 10 Sindhi schools and every year melas
of Asuchand and Chetichand are held it has two devnagri
Sindhi weekly newspapers, a monthly Sindhi program
and three programs on radio. The Rajasthan government
has promoted the Sindhi Academy for promoting culture,
language and tradition. The tourist attractions
are Hawa Mahal, City Palace Rani Palace, and Museum
etc.
SINDHI JOURNALISTS ASSOCIATION OF RAJASTHAN
In Jaipur, Rajasthan, journalists of
leading publications have come together to form
Sindhi Journalist Association of Rajasthan.
The following members have been elected for the
working committee: Kanaiya Agnani has been elected
the president of the association and editor of 'Munjho
Watan' Harish Menghani has been elected as the general
secretary.
The other elected members are Pursharthi Jyoti'
editor G T Bhatt, 'Jai Amarlal' editors Ashok Mulchandani
and Govind Mulchandani, 'ETV's Rajesh Aasanani and
freelance photographer G R Asnani, K Nandlal of
'Dayanand Vani' (Jodhpur), district correspondent
of 'Daily Navjyoti' Hiralal Bhurani, 'Daily Sanchar
Jyoti's' Sohanlal Meherchandani and 'Lokmat Jagat's
