This directory contains basic contact information on Sindhi businesses, classified according to product categories. We are constantly updating the directory, as indeed we should – since the Sindhi presence in global business is constantly growing.

• Sindhitrade.com is an active Trading site, which contains company profiles, catalogues, business listings, etc. – to enable trade to take place between interested parties. As many as 5,000 companies from all over the globe are listed on this portal.

• Sindhiinfo.com contains social and cultural information about the Sindhi community. It is the world’s biggest Sindhi portal featuring Heritage, Sindhi Culture, Educational Institutions, Celebrities & Achievers, etc. ALL you want to know about the Sindhi community can be found on this portal, wherever you are based. a- An interesting bit of information at this site, for instance, is that the earliest musical instruments to be found in Sindh’s history are the Narr (a special kind of flute), and the Borrindo (a primitive drum). These instruments go back almost 5,000 years, reaching into the Indus Valley Civilization.
b- Another interesting historical fact is that right from the days of the Indus Valley civilization (2,500 B.C.), Sindhis have been outgoing, adventurous people. At Mohen-jo-Daro, have been found remains of maritime trade between Sindh, Persia, and Greece!! An open-mindedness and a spirit of adventure have long been part of the Sindhi’s mercantile spirit. In other words, the Sindhi at his best is not just a money-minded trader. He/she is also an adventurer, a person with a cosmopolitan bent of mind.
c- It must be admitted here, however, that much more needs to be found about Sindhi history and culture. What we know about our past, and our culture is too little so far. We welcome the contributions of interested scholars in this area.

Expo-Vision
2 - What has Expo-Vision done as an event manager so far?
It has organized three successful Exhibitions as of now, and two more are in the pipeline.
a. The Sindhi Shopping Utsav, at The Taj Land’s End, Bandra, Mumbai, from 30th April, 2004 to 2nd May, 2004. This was a consumer goods exhibition, where some 5,000 people turned up.
b. The Property Utsav, at The Taj Land’s End, Bandra, Mumbai, from 5-7 November, 2004. Times Properties was its main sponsor, and the exhibition was very successful. Business worth Rs.150 crores was transacted in this 3-day exhibition. In addition, Rs.50 crores of Housing Loans were sanctioned on the spot!!
c. The Finance & Investment Show, at the same venue, from 5-6 March 2005. Our main sponsor for this show was The State Bank of India. The number of visitors to this show was so large that all the exhibitors were happily surprised!! And, those exhibitors who missed out, have specially asked us to hold another such show very soon. Banks, Stock broking companies, Mutual Fund and Insurance companies got leads of Rs.200 crores, from this two-day exhibition, which is a record in its own right. This figure is also an indication of the Quality and Class of visitors to this event organized by Expo-Vision.
d. Another finance & investment show, in response to public demand, is now scheduled tentatively in August 2005.

3 – We now turn to The International Sindhi Trade Show, to be held at The Hyatt Regency hotel, Mumbai, in December 2005.
In the 57 years since the Partition of India, this is the first time ever that Sindhis from all over the world will come together to mix business with pleasure and culture, for a period of three days and three nights.
Nowhere has such a show ever been held, and it is high time we did.
Yes, there have been a few Sammelans, to highlight the community’s problems and social issues. But the International Sindhi Trade Show is much more – it is about business, trade, and about celebrating the Sindhi community’s identity, and achievements in every field – ranging from manufacturing, building homes, to fashion design, professional sports, and Bollywood.
A major highlight of this grand event is the screening of a Half-hour film, which is a first-hand documentary report on the contribution of Sindhis to India’s economic development.
