Officer P. EM Ramchandani (Indian Air
Force), was the student of Jai Hind College,
Bombay. He was the first Sindhi Force Officer
who was awarded Vir Chakra in the Indo-Pak was
of 1965. He penetrated deep into the enemy territory
and bombed the enemy air force base. Nine times
he made successful sorties and returned to his
base safely. On the 10th Sortie, after completing
his mission, he was on his way back to his base.
Though he brought the damaged plane back from
the enemy territory and came down by parachute,
he was seriously wounded and died on 26th September,
1965. His body was brought to Bombay for cremation,
and in his memory there is Prem Ramchandani Marg
in Colaba.
